MacKenzie Caledonian Pipe Band - A Big Step Forward

The MacKenzie Caledonian Pipe Band recorded their debut album, titled A Big Step Forward, at the end of 2014. It was launched at our sell-out concert at the Gardyne Theatre, Dundee in February 2015 and contains a mixture of modern and traditional tunes.

The tracks on the album include material the band performs when on parade around Scotland, our competition Medley and March, Strathspey and Reel sets, as well as an electrifying solo set from Cameron Weir, John MacCusker's beautiful Night Visiting song set for the pipes by piper Alistair Macluskie, and the incredible Murray's Fancy suite.

The band has attracted some real young talent in the recent past and track 4 features our ‘class of 2015’ players making their performance debut with the band less than three months after joining.
